
George P. Shultz
George P. Shultz is the Thomas W. and Susan B. Ford Distinguished Fellow at the Hoover Institution. He has served as senior staff economist on President Eisenhower's Council of Economic Advisers, Secretary of Labor and Secretary of the Treasury under President Nixon, as well as President Reagan’s Secretary of State. He was awarded the Medal of Freedom in 1989. From 1974-1982, he was an executive at Bechtel Group. He has taught at the University of Chicago, Stanford, and MIT. Shultz received a B.A. in Economics from Princeton and a Ph.D. degree in industrial economics from MIT.
